On May 1, 1967, Samuel Timothy “Tim” McGraw was born. He is a well-known American country music performer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He has astonishingly put out 16 studio albums during the course of his career, 11 of which were issued under Curb Records, four through Big Machine Records, and one through Arista Nashville.

Ten of these albums—including his debut, “Not a Moment Too Soon,” which was the best-selling country album of 1994—have impressively peaked at number one on the Top Country Albums charts. Amazingly, 65 songs have been released from McGraw’s albums, 25 of which have topped the Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay charts.

Notably, according to the Billboard Year-End rankings, three of these singles, including “It’s Your Love,” “Just to See You Smile,” and “Live Like You Were Dying,” were the top country songs of 1997, 1998, and 2004, respectively.

Tim McGraw was born to parents Tug McGraw and Elizabeth Ann D’Agostino in Delhi, Louisiana, in the United States.

While his father was a long-time member of Major League Baseball and a former professional baseball relief pitcher, his mother was a stay-at-home mother.

Tug is renowned for having coined the term “Ya Gotta Believe,” which the 1973 New York Mets adopted as their catchphrase.
