Julie Andrews, whose real name is Julia Elizabeth Wells, was born on 1 October 1935 in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England as a daughter of father, Edward Charles Wells, and mother, Barbara Ward Wells, and father, Edward Charles Wells. Her father used to work as a teacher for metalwork and woodwork. It was revealed that, she was the child of her mother’s affair with her family friend where she knew about all of in 1950, and later, she disclosed publicly in 2008.

In May 1959, Andrews married set designer Tony Walton with whom she had given birth to their daughter Emma Katherine Walton but later, they divorced in 1967. After that, she married to directed Blake Edwards in 1969 and lived together until Edwards died in the year 2010.  Andrew had two children from his previous marriage and they had also adopted two Vietnamese daughters, Amy and Joanna.

Julie Andrews started her acting career, after she had been cast as a voice actor and provided her voice over the character Princess Zeila in an Italian animated movie “La Rosa di Bagdad” in 1949. After that, she was cast as Mary Poppins in an American musical fantasy movie “Mary Poppins” in 1964. In that year, she was also seen appearing in an American black-and-white romantic movie “The Americanization of Emily” as Emily Barham.
