Jennifer Lawrences Vogue cover & preview: gorgeous or undeserved?
Jennifer Lawrence covers the September issue of Vogue, which is (of course) the huge fall fashion issue, and because I’m a JLaw-loonie, the atmosphere at this particular laptop is one of abject excitement. First off, I have to praise the fact that (unlike in her Vogue UK spread) there are no awful, 1970s winged bangs at play here. Bangs in and of themselves do not offend me, but winged ones tell me that girlfriend hasn’t had her hair trimmed in some time. So I am (to be perfectly shallow) quite pleased that JLaw is keeping up with her regular trims despite her terribly busy schedule.
Naturally, the very mention of the word “busy” reminds me to warn those of you who are tired of Jennifer’s so-called “overexposure” to buckle down and prepare for the annual onslaught of publicity. Girlfriend will soon be promoting Catching Fire (which releases in November), and she’s probably going to get some attention next Oscar season for her supporting role in American Hustle.
In the meantime, I’d like to draw attention to the amazing cover image that is very fall-like in apperance and also features Jennifer wearing … wait for it … Calvin Klein. While we can’t see the entire outfit, I’m thrilled at the hint of Calvin on this cover because dude completely knows how to dress JLaw’s body. Also, the cover is very fresh and doesn’t look overly made-up or photoshopped while (most importantly) JLaw is not smiling, which (admittedly) often makes her look awkward. Yes, I’m saying it — JLaw looks best with an open mouth. Suck it, Miley Cyrus.
However, I’m not so sure about this “preview” image from the editorial. Why so blurry, Vogue editors?
Just for kicks, here’s a visual reminder of how amazing JLaw usually looks in Calvin Klein. I do hope that the editorial fully reveals the outfit on the cover.
