    Daniel Abt Facts

  • He won the 2009 ADAC Formel Masters championship driving for the Abt Sportsline racing team which was owned and managed by his father.
  • At the 2010 German Formula 3 Championship, he was in contention for the title throughout the season and was within touching distance till the start of the last race weekend. However, he had to settle for 2nd place by a margin of 8 points after a mixed performance in the last 2 races of the season.
  • He had finished in 3rd place in the opening race of the inaugural 2014-15 Formula E season. However, he was pushed down to number 10 in the official race results after being handed a penalty for illegal modifications to his car.
  • His first race win in Formula E came at the 2018 Mexico City ePrix after 38 Formula E race starts and in his 4th full season. Before this, he had ended up on the podium 4 times including 2 2nd-place and 2 3rd-place finishes but a victory had always eluded him. Having ended his winless drought at the 2018 Mexico City ePrix, he added another trophy to his cabinet after a gap of just 3 races when he triumphed at the 2018 Berlin ePrix.
  • He was a candidate for the Deutsche Post Speed Academy from 2008 to 2010 and by finishing as the academy’s overall winner in 2009 and 2010, he was named ‘Germany’s Motorsport Talent of the Year’ in both those years.
